I want those antler earrings!

I heartily approve of your sabbatical (sorry if I have spelled wrong, I know how it horrifies your DNA) - and now I think you should definitely embrace 'em all - as jewelry - (reset or not) or to add to art pieces - or cooking projects ...or to a burning effigy of R - oh that's right, you are over the angry stage... love xxx.

It doesn't look like a typical engagement ring. The other issue, though, is that my fingers have fleshed out quite a bit since I was 27--so I might have to have it enlarged. Sigh...

Personally, I'd get the engagement ring reset so it doesn't look like an engagement ring. Maybe make it into a necklace or something. But really, if YOU love it and don't feel uncomfortable wearing it, why not?

Wear it!

You lucked out with this piece of jewelery because it doesn't necessarily look like an engagement ring so much as a beautiful ring and piece of jewelery. And not everyone you come in contact with who mentions it need know the story behind it beyond "it was a gift".

Part of being able to achieve the wearing or acknowledging of past "gifts" is also in changing how you feel about it. It feels that way or holds that sentiment or means that to you because that is the association and importance you have give it. But, it has the potential to be something else entirely to you . . . just as he is now.

Don't let the past, stop you from the potential of feeling fabulous in the future.
